CETM co-founder Stephen Pietrantoni

 

Stephen Pietrantoni is a multi-faceted theatre professional.  Although born and raised in Boston, he has lived in Montreal most of his adult life.  Though he trained and works as a writer and translator (English/French), he often also wears the hat of director, producer, singer and/or theatre administrator.

         

The holder of a Master of Science in print journalism from Boston University, Stephen received his graduate diploma in cultural affairs and event management from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business in 2007.  His Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University included a double major in theatre and comparative religion. As a visiting scholar at Yale University, he focused on writing for theatre and film.

 

For six years, Stephen was the editor of a bilingual (French/English) bi-monthly corporate magazine that was distributed across Canada to over 220,000 subscribers. 

 

His stage credits include over twenty different productions, such as Oh, Coward!, Music of the Stars, Inspire Me: Songs of Inspiration from Broadway, Company, A Little Night Music, The Great Houdini, I See London, I See France (The Underwear Musical), The Great American Trailer Park Musical, and this year’s Souvenir.

 

Stephen is the co-founder of the Centre for Education and Theatre in Montreal Inc.  He is the initiator and creator of Le Spotlight: Montreal’s Musical Theatre Challenge and The Next Wave Festival of New Musicals, as well as co-translator (English to French) of the musical Altar Boyz / Les z’enfants de choeur.
