After having been involved with CETM for the past year, I am moved to express my gratitude and deep appreciation for all that which CETM stands: a center, providing education for the budding artist in addition to the recognition and support of professional performers.
I am particularly appreciative that CETM provides one of the few spaces where French and English speakers can collaborate and perform plays and musicals in both languages! Not only that, but audience members enjoy watching both versions. This is wonderful! More and more, I see English speakers improving their proficiency in French as a sign of reverence to Montreal’s strong cultural roots.
As theatre certainly stimulates cultural growth, I have particularly respected the integrity of this company. Thank you for ensuring that the integrity of this company shines through in every production I’ve participated in and enjoyed as an audience member.
My hope is that CETM can become more firmly recognized as a valuable asset to both French and English communities of Montreal in order to encourage further cultural growth through the arts.
Speaking of growth, I have also particularly appreciative of the Next Wave Musical Festival. My experience with Daisy and the Wonder Weeds was particularly unique because we played a integral role in the development of an original musical production and learned a lot in the process of production. This experience has been especially valuable to me, and to the development of my career.
I write this letter as a gesture of gratitude and with the intention that you regard this document as a testament to the value of CETM and the enriching effects it has within the community of Montreal at large.
With many thanks,
Molly McGivern
